Online
Access to therapy shouldn’t be determined by schedule or location. My online sessions provide flexibility for you to have therapy even during the busiest of times in your life.
Online session appointments are openly available, subject to scheduling. Special appointments are available for shift workers from 8-9pm.
The frequency of therapy is entirely up to you. You can attend twice a week or once every fortnight.
If you have a specific time you would like to book, just enquire and I will do my best to accommodate you.
Walk and Talk
Step outside the traditional setting of therapy and into nature. Experiencing the grounding, calming impact of walk and talk therapy
These sessions are really popular. I try to cater for the client and stay local to them if they wish. Others prefer to go further afield for greater anonymity. Some people want to walk, or others, to sit by a pond or on a hill and talk. The weather (believe it or not) is not really an issue. If its really unpleasant, we move online and continue therapy comfortable at home. The idea is to cater for the needs of the client and not conduct therapy solely in a room.
How can I help?
Try something new
Reaching out can be the hardest part of a therapy journey. However, its never something you regret. Every session is an opportunity to release what is holding you back, realign with yourself and your own values, and begin exploring what it is you want for yourself.
Target Specific Issues
When life brings a specific challenge, therapy can give you a focused, supportive space to catch your breath and examine the issue. Together, we can break down what feels overwhelming, explore your feelings and develop your capacity to help you feel grounded and back in co.
New beginnings
Major life transitions can leave you feeling stuck, uncertain, or facing difficult emotions you didn't expect. Therapy offers a safe space to process these complex feelings, make sense of the shift in your identity, or grieve a future you had hoped for. Together, we can untangle these experiences, allowing you to step into a new chapter with renewed clarity and confidence.
ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Alwyn Dalton. I’m a qualified psychotherapist with a special focus on reproductive and perinatal mental health and parenting journeys.
My passion for perinatal mental health is rooted in both professional expertise and deep personal understanding. Before becoming a therapist, I spent a decade working as a midwife. In that role, I witnessed firsthand the profound psychological shifts, emotional complexities, and identity changes that accompany fertility and pregnancy journeys, experiences that ultimately inspired me to dedicate my therapeutic practice to supporting parents through these transformative moments.
I hold a Master’s in Pluralistic Psychotherapy, where my research focused on the therapeutic journey of individuals navigating fertility treatments in Ireland, as well as a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with a specialised focus on birth trauma. This in-depth training consolidated my midwifery experience, allowing me to bridge clinical insight with deep psychological care.
Whether you are navigating fertility challenges, processing birth trauma, moving through pregnancy, or adjusting to the transition into parenthood, I provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel fully heard, validated, and supported.
what clients bring to therapy with me
Gynaecological issues such as Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome affect more than you physical wellbeing. It affects how we feel about ourselves, can limit our lives and opportunities, and is rarely given the space it deserves.
Navigating infertility can feel overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally exhausting. But you don’t have to do it alone.
Therapy offers a compassionate space to manage anxiety, face disappointment, and process grief.
While pregnancy is often framed as a time of joy, perinatal anxiety and obsessive-compulsive symptoms are far more common than many realize. . Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space to understand these experiences, manage anxiety symptoms, and restore your sense of peace and emotional stability.
Pregnancy loss brings a deep and complex grief that can feel profoundly isolating. There is no wrong or right way to feel. Therapy provides gentle, dedicated support to help you process grief, care for your mental health, and feel heard during one of life’s most challenging experiences.
Traumatic birth experiences cast a long shadow.
This trauma can lead to anxiety, flashbacks, and feelings of disconnection, and fundamentally impact on your relationship with your baby, your partner, and yourself.
